a problem with my screen

I recently installed Ubuntu 6.10. It works good , except the fact, that when I try to Scroll Down or Up on a website or w/e, the screen becomes like "cut in frames", it does not scroll smoothly , and that is a real pain for my eyes.

any idea of what could it be caused by ?

thanks.

What browser are you using? If its Firefox, try installing the 'SmoothWheel' plugin.
Also, it helps to wait till a page is loaded before scrolling it; Not sure why, but I find this difference with Firefox in Linux vs Windows.

it ain't the browser, it even happens when I browse my files on my computer. I'm having the feeling , it's the xorg causing this, but i've got no idea of how to fix it.

Same problem here, "maat" .
Scrolling seems to cascade rather than scroll down. It's like the contents of the scrollable area are redrawn from top to bottom in a very very slow way. very annoying indeed.
