A bit sappy...

Hi All,

You know, I'm sitting here with my computer pissed about issues with Debian and Ubuntu. Then I caught myself... what an amazing thing that there is a Linux project. Especially in the face of blatant commercialism, product placement and everyone wanting to cash in and make money. How freakin' great is it that we have Linux? Think about it... I can download a kick-ass operating system (regardless where your distro loyalties lie), office suite, graphic image manipulation program etc. free of charge. Anyone read The Cathedral and the Bizarre? This is really something special that we are a part of here. I have a real place for Linux and its developers in my heart and just want to share my gratitude for the fact that Linux is around.

Cheers,

ab

i totally agree. we are really fortunate that there is an open and "free" alternative to the M$ corporate madness, and that there are so many people willing to donate their time and talent for basically nothing in return (in financial terms, at least). i am with you in being really grateful for that. freedom + choice = keeps us human.
