686-kernel problems + which filesystem do you use?

Hi,

I'm having problems with the 2.6.x.x-686 kernels, which I described in this thread here.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=325320

I've met a debian-developer in an irc channel, who said it could be because I use reiserfs.

So I was wondering, if you are using the 686 kernels, do you use ext2/3 or reiserfs or something else and is it stable on your machine?
And if you do use the 686 kernels, did you compile it yourself or did you download it via kynaptic/apt-get/synaptic ?

And of course, if you have any idea regarding my problem, I'd appreciate it if you could help me.

Thanks

PS: I chose not to add a reply to my original thread because it's in the newbie section and I doubt that as many ubuntu users as here will read it there.

I've been using the 686 kernel for a while now - and I installed the ReiserFS. I get the same message on boot, but no other problems like freezing (so far). I did have a problem with the 686 restricted modules installation that hosed GDM. I reinstalled it a couple of times (to experiment) and tried ext3 for grins... I think I saw the same message then also.

I think the boot message is just a glitch in the grub system... I dunno, I'm totally guessing at this point - but it doesn't seem to be any big deal.... yet.
