First you need your graphics card to support it (restricted drivers enabed).

You also need to install compizconfig-settings-manager, compiz-fusion-plugins.

Then go system -> preferences -> advanced desktop effects settings.

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done

ok, lets try this one,

sudo apt-get install compiz-fusion-plugins-extra
sudo apt-get install compiz-fusion-plugins-main

or another way you can do it is :

open the synaptic manager
system -> administration -> synaptic package manager

then click search and type compiz-fusion-plugins

the search results should be two packages :
compiz-fusion-plugins-extra
compiz-fusion-plugins-main

right click and mark them for installation

then click the apply button.

two problems remaining.

i have installed compiz from http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_d...z_.28Nvidia.29. but i could not find anything to configure compiz. how should i load new plugins and start them. ccsm in the terminal does not work.

2nd is i was running amarok before installing compiz. but after installing it, amarok stopped working. when i click to start it , the process appears in the system monitor but it does not show up as usual.
