[Xubuntu 6.10] laptop's touch pad not detected

I just installed Xubuntu 6.10 and my Toshiba Satellite A30's touch pad is not detected forcing me to use an external USB mouse. Is there any way to get that detected? Here are the relevant parts from my "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" file

Quote:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
Driver "synaptics"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "Protocol" "auto-dev"
Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Driver "wacom"
Identifier "stylus"
Option "Device" "/dev/wacom" # Change to
# /dev/input/event
# for USB
Thanks.

Normally a Synaptics touchpad will have:

Code:
        Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
not "/dev/psaux".

Theres' a Toshiba A30 configuration here. Perhaps that will help you find the problem.
