[Lubuntu] Uninstalling Chromium

I'm talkin about the web browser not the game, now to try to not start a flame war: I like Chromium but it doesn't suite my needs, now before you tell me how to install Firefox: I don't want to. Now to the real question: would uninstalling chromium be like uninstalling IE in WIN95 (Internet Explorer was as important (if not more) as a system file as explorer.exe)?
And How do I uninstall it (AKA: its package name)?

PS How do I get this stupid Gnumeric out of my menu? I have run apt autoremove on that thing ten times and it is still there!?!?! It makes my clean list of libreoffice stuff look bad...

Assuming those things were installed automatically, or by you via the package manager, you can:

Code:
sudo aptitude --purge-unused purge chromium-browser
Code:
sudo aptitude --purge-unused purge gnumeric
And no, uninstalling Chrome isn't like uninstalling Explorer. The Window Manager suite will provide a file browser. I don't know what LXDE's is called, but in Gnome it is Nautilus. Chrome is just some app that happens to view web pages.

Internet Explorer not Explorer,
Internet Explorer in the days of 95/98 was like you uninstalled it, you could maby use notepad. It was DEEP in the system files and registry and installing another browser wouldn't help that.
And both of those (Gnumeric, Chromium) came with lubuntu. Chromium even has a quick launch icon on the bar at the bottom of the screen (what's it called?).

It would be a good idea to check what else is going to be removed. Sometimes a lot of other stuff is stuck to a package through dependencies.

This usually has to do with the meta package, if any, that was responsible for installing that package.

You can break up the meta package by;
Code:
aptitude keep-all
To do that, though, in Ubuntu I think you have to install aptitude.

or

Open Synaptic package manager from System>Administration

Lubuntu doesn't have software center (thank God), so that's out of the question.

For some reason, even "remove all" for Gnumeric (from Synaptic doesn't remove it from the menu either. To remove Gnumeric, easiest way I've found is:
Code:
sudo apt-get remove gnumeric gnumeric-common
It'll be gone then..
