Microsoft may hate "XP," because they sold tons of copies of it and then weren't able to sell upgrades. They tried several, and nobody bought them. The only thing Vista ever did for them was to fuel "I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" commercials from Apple. "Good ol' XP" continues to run hundreds of thousands of critical computers, in hospitals and such.
