Microsoft has made it clear that it will use the secure boot feature available with Windows 8 to lock out other operating systems from ARM devices which are running this version of its operating system.
Suffice it to say, I have sent an email to my MEP of choice regarding this. Hopefully, as with the first round of this UEFI 'war', the linkes of Red Hat and Canonical will see it as being in their interests to get involved too.
