LXer: Tip of the YEAR for Fedora and Red Hat/CentOS users

Published at LXer:

Works a treat!

Dear LXer:
Your tip -- turning off smooth scrolling -- not only improved the response time of my Firefox in CentOS, it actually resulted in a smoother scrolling experience than before. Apparently, with all the embedded contents in web pages these days, the scrolling just works better with that feature disabled.

Thanks!

Err...you do realize that "LXer" is a bot, right? In any case, you can still get a "smooth scrolling"-like feel while still maintaining relatively low CPU time usage with SmoothWheel. In fact I'd say this works even more beautifully than just turning off smooth scrolling.

Just an idea if you're interested.
