The Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN), Blind Citizens Australia, Media Access Australia, Able Australia and the Australian Deafblind Council have banded together to campaign for the demise of the CAPTCHA. CAPTCHA squiggles are often frustrating for able-bodied folks, never mind those with less-than-stellar hearing or sight.

I agree with them 100%. I fail CAPTCHA 30-50 % of the time, and I am not disabled.

I too agree. CAPTCHA is difficult to recognize only for humans (also without any disablility). Computer programs are better with handling CAPTCHA images than people. I do not understand why someone can think that very low contrast or many dots on background merging with text to read and so on, is any difficulty for computer algorithms.

Indeed many of them are reasonably easy for computers to solve. Either way CAPTHA is not a solution, but rather a new problem.
