An interesting thought. I never use webmail, always use a e-mail client, and only use one that's equipped with GPG encryption capability. On an Android mobile device, "K-9 Mail" has the ability to do this.
This is the only hope you have of keeping your e-mail safe(r) from prying, corporate(?) eyes.
You should be doing the same thing with instant messaging. No "texting." Use a client that establishes an encrypted point-to-point connection between the two devices.
