I think the issue is one of perception. Many people want to use FOSS as a matter of principle, not because they plan to modify, circulate, or redistribute the code. I was surprised to find that Swiftfox is released under a restricted license.
There is no legal issue with Swiftfox, but based on this new knowledge, I will not use nor recommend it.
