The next two releases of Silverlight will take Microsoft's media player in completely new directions, the technical executive in charge has promised. The corporate vice president of Microsoft's developer division Scott Guthrie told the company's Channel 9 "whole new areas you can't do today will start to open up" with Silverlight 3 and 4.

Yeah, it's probably best to stay away from $ilverlight/Moonlight. I haven't seen too many things around that use $ilverlight. I did try the Moonlight extension to see if it worked, and not surprisingly most $ilverlight media already requires 2.0 whereas Moonlight only supports 1.0 ... and now there's gonna 3.0 and 4.0.

I'm pretty sure Flash will win out in the end anyway.
