LXer: Official Ubuntu Advert at Its Awesome Best!

Published at LXer:

A really slick Ubuntu advertisement was shown during Mark’s keynote address at the Ubuntu Developer Summit 2010. It's a very well put together Ubuntu advert and gives you a quick preview of what Ubuntu is all about. Watch the video below.

AWESOME!!! A much overused word these days. Except when it's applied to the WM, of course. :)

I agree. That's a pretty good video- not confusing or cluttery, just nice and effectively communicates it's message.

For me, I just hear the audio, no video. What is causing this problem?

What do you mean?

I think Canonical and others need to focus on internet advertising like videos, etc. I see a shift in people moving away from cable/traditional TV and watching things online.

I said this some years ago that this would happen. It started much faster then I thought. But in another ten years we might hear the younger generation ask, "What is cable? What is TV?"

So to get a jump start on this, I think it will do a world of good for linux in general.

And with such things as Google TV coming about, even TV in the future will be nothing but Internet content. So I guess it's the end of TV as we know it, and as soon as people hear about Linux through Internet ads and just how *free* it is, it's time to say "Rest in Pieces" for M$.
