LXer: New Update to Linux Game 'World of Padman' Brings Many New Features

Published at LXer:

World of Padman (WoP) is a first-person shooter game that is developed and headed by the professional cartoonist and illustrator ENTE and his team. The game was initially developed as a modification of the original game Quake III Arena and was titled PadMod. After the source code for Quake III Arena was released, the game became standalone. The current version runs on an enhanced version of the ioquake3 engine, which is based on the Quake III Arena engine.

Well, Quake is a 10-year-old game, so even if derivative works of it exist it still is outdated. That said, there always is 0 A.D. to play

Only because a game is old, it doesn't mean that it is outdated. I still play Jagged Alliance 2 (1999, best round based tactical game ever) or an older RPG, like Fallout 2 (1998) or Neverwinter Nights (2002), and they have not lost from their flair over time. They are not graphical blenders, but have a really good story and character/world design. Some of the newer games should take a leaf out of their books.
