Simple if you want the Debian package use Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061024 Iceweasel/2.0 (Debian-2.0+dfsg-1)

If you want the Mozilla Firefox, you have two choices: use the official Linux tarball or use Swiftfox which has a Debian package.

# Swiftfox - Firefox builds for your CPU
# deb http://getswiftfox.com/builds/debian unstable non-free

This has issue has been beaten like a dead horse.

Great read, and the comments were interesting as well.

Edit: Oh, I'm sorry, I was talking about the article linked by craigevil.

As far as the issue is concerned, the solution was really so simple -- just fork Mozilla Firefox as they ultimately did (just as wodim has forked cdrecord) and leave everyone happy.

Unfortunately, both Debian and Mozilla being such huge entities, it was inevitable that there would be some ego clashes...
