Micro$oft press release - URGENT for immediate release!:

We are totally committed to privacy and respect the rights of our users!

Blah... blah... blah...

Blah-blah, blah... blah... blah....

Blabber blah... blabber... blabber...
And the crowd goes wild...

Micro$oft's vast over-reach and intrusion has already been accepted by industry and users, and is now the de-facto norm.

These articles are just narcotic to calm anyone who is still just a tad uncomfortable, and gives them an announcement to point to when a still-sentient being raises an objection...

"But I know I read somewhere that they are committed to user privacy! I am Ok with that... you must be paranoid, acting like a 12 year old!", and they promptly return to their catatonic state, and we all slip a little further into the descending darkness...
