I have noticed that "it's about the code and not about personalities" tends to be applied quite selectively...
For the people who have published hit-pieces on her over the years (none of whom were coders, AFAIK), it has always been entirely about personalities. That article is an example. (To save you clicking: it's a Jim Lynch article, and it just quotes the Slashdot comments). |
When did expecting common courtesy in one's workplace, whether paid or volunteer, become a "social justice crusade"?
(Of course, there is an answer: howling about "social justice crusades" moves the spotlight away from the persons behaving badly and over any of their targets who dare to speak out. It's classic abuser behavior.) |

I will grant that.
I will suggest, though, that it smacks of teenage-boy pack behavior. Even an indirect threat must be treated as a direct one and responded to accordingly. |
