AMD briefed Linux.com this morning on a pending announcement regarding the open sourcing of drivers for ATI graphics cards. It's official -- AMD will make code and specifications for ATI graphics cards available on the Internet on September 10.

What...? Is this some kind of joke or something?

Regardless of truthfulness, whichever vendor makes open-source 3D drivers, I will purchase their hardware as my next graphics card. Any of the new stuff will probably be better than my already outdated Nvidia 7300 GS pci-e card.
