Not much to install other than the gstreamer plugins. Songbird is a stand alone app nothing to install, similar to Mozilla's Firefox or Netscape. Just extract and click on Songbird.

Personally I still like Amarok better, the side menu on Songbird has way too much stuff. It is nice in that it works with several pay music services.
