I had quite a hard time getting my hardware to work on Linux, but did that make me give up? NO!!!!
I learned the best way to get around the hardware issues: Custom-build a PC to work with Linux full throttle. Just like people can build Hackintoshes, they can build custom PCs with nothing but FOSS drivers and that are 100% compatible with Linux.
That said, Google apps CAN run on Linux, as they can be used with Firefox (and definitely Chrome). Maybe deploying
Chromium OS on the office computers would be great.
