Typo3 is a definitely a powerful and compact open source CMS. It is not bloated either like WP. Installing it on Debian or any server is easy as long as you have ssh access. Once you have setup the stack, Typo3 can be installed by the following Composer command.

composer create-project typo3/cms-base-distribution {YourNewProjectFolder}

Otherwise, you will have to access through FTP and add the directory there to public folder.
