well XP users will not have to worry about a update replacing grub with xp's bootloader
so using xp's bootloader and the 3.5 in floppy drive that is in the XP machine will not be needed to run "dd" on the first 512 byts of the grub partition
then using the 3.5 in floppy to put it ( linux.bin) on the XP C:\\ drive
and adding it to the boot.ini
or use ntfs-3g and forget about the 3.5 in floppy drive
