I appreciate the tutorial but, really, not being able to easily connect an android phone to linux displays the greed and arrogance of Google.
"do no evil" is a blatant lie -- they could have made Android devices use EXT4 (or applicable, free, standards) but they chose to use formats owned by microsoft and, even, chose to make it more difficult to attach an Android device to a GNU/Linux machine.
I have no choice in the matter but to use Android on my "phone" and, soon, I will have to buiy one of these sheets of glass as my personal conmputer but, please, if do not allow Google to even pretend to help anyone!

Google removed their slogan of "don't be evil" actually https://www.activistpost.com/2018/05...ect-maven.html - which makes sense, as they weren't really following that slogan much as of late.

I stopped using Google's search a while back (switched to duckduckgo), found aptoide as an alternative to the Google Play store as well - so while not completely de-googled, at least I there are some alternatives here and there.
