The GCC development team, through Jakub Jelinek, announced the immediate availability for download of the final release of GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) 5.1.0, a major version that includes numerous attractive features and dozens of improvements in various areas.
It's been a day or two passed as of release news here. There is improved lto optimization done. Also c11 has become the default option plus full support of c++14.
Now is the time to test it with building many softwares. Hopefully serious bugs would be fixed by another minor version release.
