Syrian FOSS developer Bassel Khartabil (also known as Bassel Safadi) is project leader for an open source web software called Aiki Framework. He is a dedicated volunteer to Creative Commons, Mozilla, Wikipedia, and Open Clip Art Library, among others. He has also been detained, incommunicado, by Syrian authorities since March. Larry the Free Software Guy thinks he should go free, right now, and urges the FOSS community to come to Bassel's aid.
