The never dieing debate.
I think as though I'm in a position to provide a strong opinion here. I had been using an iPhone 3G for nearly a year but just wanted to keep with the times and upgrade. So obviously I was looking at the 3GS. Then I opened my mind to alternatives and I found the G1.
So long story short I bought the HTC. And I was most certainly not disappointed. Granted video playing was not natively supported, but within 5 minutes of having the phone I had a working video player installed. The physical keyboard kicks ass over Apples on screen only option. I could go on an on but I'll save you the exhaustive list.
Now don't get me wrong, the iPhone does have a few niceties that I miss. The App Store was smoother... but was often cluttered with crap not worth your time. Two finger slide zooming on pictures and websites, if you've used one you know what I mean.
But I'll put it boldly, do you want a smartphone? Or an iPod that makes calls? Because those are two very different things. The iPhone doesn't have an option to work on Word documents or view Powerpoint shows. So I suppose we'll just have to leave it up to personal opinion. They're just too different to compare.
