Anonymous Hacker Group has released their own Ubuntu based distribution named Anonymous OS. It uses Ubuntu 11.10 as base and comes with MATE desktop environment. Many applications useful for Web security and other Anonymous approved apps are pre-installed. Anonymous OS is created for educational purposes and for tightening web security. The group has advised not to use these tools for attacking any web page or some other kind of illegal activities.

I'm sure it is loaded with malware. Should I waste my time checking to see if this is true, or just forget about it and do something more productive ?

Forget about it. It's just another gubmint gimmick to mess with your mind.

BTW, Anonymous and anonymous are antonyms.

Be careful but being paranoid is silly, you are on the internet afterall, nothing you do is truly anonymous in cyber space.

Several Anon twitter accounts have all said it has malware in it and not to use it.

I think they have done the right thing.

Too bad for the 40,000 people that were dumb enough to download it. Now the FBI/NSA has a wide open door into their PC.
