Adobe has released Flash Player version 11.2 with many new features. This is last and final Flash Player release for Linux platform and now onward there will be only security and bug fix updates. Last month Adobe announced that it is withdrawing Flash Player support for Linux platform. All the future newer Flash releases will be bundled with Google Chrome using its Pepper API and for everything else, 11.2 will be the last release.

Bad news, I fear, for those of us who watch Flash video -- if any changes are now made we're locked out for good.
As it happens the recent flash makes YouTube videos blue so I can't use it anyhow, which is even more worrying.

Use youtube-dl to download the video then watch it in vlc or mplayer.
Or use Minitube, either way no Flash needed.

That is a workaround, yes, but since I need Flash installed for watching TV shows it would be nice if it worked for Youtube too (I'm sure there's a fix in the works though as I've read it's a vidpau issue). Sometimes it's good to be able to watch Youtube straight away too without having to wait for it to download.
What really worries me most is that the TV companies will introduce a change which requires a Flash upgrade.

I agree. Also, many or most youtube videos now use HTML5.

Adobe can take their flash player and shove it. I'm sick of their buggy flash player anyway, I haven't run it for a while.

That article is quite contradictory, when 11.2 would be the last version for Linux then Google Chrome can't get newer versions, since it is running on Linux. By the way, Flash isn't "Chrome only" in the future, Adobe is simply supporting just one plug-in format in the future, the Pepper API. Any browser implementing the API can use newer Flash versions.
