Zire and Bootsplashes on SUSE 9.3

I use the eval version of SUSE LINUX 9.3 and have two issues-
1| KPilot will not reconise my palmOne Zire 32 and will not sync.
2| My SUSE Bootsplash is installed on my system, however will not appear on my system! I think it is in my system, becouse it works on a older laptop. My system is an eMachines 1.70 GHz Celeron with on-board graphics and my resoloution is 1024x768. HELP ME!!!

I can't help with you palm. However I remember that there was a thread about this in this forum previously, so you may be able to find it in a search.

To see the boosplash, you have to use the correct 'vga=' and 'splash=silent' parameter in /boot/grub/menu.lst. Additionally, you may need to run 'mkinitrd -s 1024x768' to include the picture of the correct resolution into initrd.
