Zen-updater only displays one software update in 10.1

Greetings to all.

I've just recovered from a crash after which zen-updater was displaying error dialogs whenever it was started. I fixed this problem and now I can start zen-updater without incident, but it only lists one possible update where previously over 200 were available.

The services and catalogs tabs in zen-updater are both populated as would normally be expected, I can see a number of sources (bremen, suser etc) in services and several entries under catalogs. The only update that is listed is Suse-Linux-10.1-DVD-i386. I also tried refreshing to no avail.

Any ideas why only one update is listed despite the fact that zen has multiple sources and catalogs present?

Many thanks,

- PerpsTherapy

You might try getting a new update ropo for yast via:
yast > software > online update configuration.

Also:
If your using the old 10.1, you may want to upgrade to 10.1 RM.
They fixed the update bugs in the RM version.

Thanks for the replies slackass.

I ran through online update configuration as per your suggestion but to no avail, and I'm assuming that I already have 10.1 RM as I have had no problems with updates in the past.

Any more ideas as to what could be causing this problem?

Many thanks,

RM just came out Oct 13th.
If your distro is older than that then the updater is full of bugs.
You may have been lucky for awhile, (so was I) but I'd get rid of it for RM.
I got RM on 3 boxes and it was well worth the change-over. Everything works perfect.

Also the new 10.2 GM comes out Dec 7th.

You may already know this but just in case:
You can save whatever is in your home partition by not reformating "home" during the upgrade, just re-mount it as "home"

You can download both distros here:

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I'm still just learnin'
slackass.
