yast package manager error
I made a fresh install of Suse 11 on a new machine KDE 3.5. I added more programs and updated others. I had been using the machine a while and saw I missed a package I needed. After I open Yast and the software manager has refreshed I get a xmessage window pop-up that states:
YaST got signal 11 at YCP file /usr/YaST2/clients/inst_packages.ycp:36
/sbin/yast2: line 421: 9046 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS
/usr/YaST2 does not exsist
line 421 is the end of an if statement that runs :
if [ $module == "menu" -a -f "$y2ccbin" ] ; then
$y2ccbin $Y2UI_ARGS "$@"
exit_code=$?
else
# loop while necessary
case "$module" in
menu) REDO_FILE=/var/lib/YaST2/restart_menu ;;
online_update) REDO_FILE=/var/lib/YaST2/selected_patches.ycp ;;
*) ;;
esac
# break out on errors, #343258
while [ $exit_code = 0 ]; do
$ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS
exit_code=$?
if [ -z "$REDO_FILE" -o ! -f "$REDO_FILE" ]; then
break
fi
done
fi
I can run YaST by shell. I am going to attempt to reinstall YaST but is Yast@ 4.0 only? What might I have selected wrong? Any thoughts?
thanks
