Xorg 6.8.99.15 crashes Suse 9.2

Hi -

I'm running suse Linux 9.2 Pro, with three ATI 9200SE video cards (all connected via PCI - the AGP slot is empty).

I'm trying to replace the built-in X windows with my own build from Xorg.

I downloaded, built and installed Xorg 6.8.99.15 from http://www.xorg.freedesktop.org. There were no errors on either the build or install.

Yet trying to run "Xorg -configure" fails with the following errors.

Trying to run "X -config /root/xorg.conf.new" literally crashes the system.

Has anybody encountered this with SuSE 9.x, Xorg 6.8 and ATI video cards before?

Does anybody have any suggestions how I can troubleshoot the problem?

Thank you in advance .. PSM
