xhost + and 9.1

Is there any way (from root) to get xhost + to work? I know about the "security feature" but I am running on a standalone machine so this would concern me too much.

Man xdm and man xauthority do not work (I installed the defualt Suse).

How can I get "xhost +" to work from root?

You may want to have a look in /etc/X11/xdm/

I don't know much about this stuff, but I think you need to comment out the following line in /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config
DisplayManager.requestPort: 0
