Xen-suse enterprise server problem

I'm trying to use Xen using suse enterprise server 10.

I kept default settings for the preparation for installation
of the vertual machine.

I get the error message " Failed to extract the kernel from the installation source. Please check that your installation source is accessible."

I have no idea how to fix this problem.

Please help me with this.

Are you by chance trying to install OES SP2 as a virtual ? I've seen this exact same issue with OES SP2 on XEN/SLES10 64. I did find a coolsolutions article suggesting that the OES SP2 kernel is not compatible with XEN but that there was an alternate kernel available somewhere.

Same issue ?

No, I'm trying to use xen using suse enterprise server 10 OS. I can start the configuration but I get the error message " Failed to extract the kernel from the installation source. Please check that your installation source is accessible."

So that I can't install any virtual os's.

If this is the issue that kernel for xen is not recognizing or even not installed, how could I fix this???

Thank you.

Let me get this correct then...You get this error once SLES10 is booted up with the XEN kernel option and you are attempting to install your first virtual ? if so what OS did you select as the virtual ? Are you trying to install the virtual from an ISO or an actual CD or from an alread installed OS or image ?

You need to actually install XEN seperately thru yast (unless you selected it during the initial SLES10 OS install) run an initial configuration which will create a second boot option for the XEN kernel then reboot the computer and choose the new XEN kernel, then go back into yast/xen to install the virtual.

Please forgive me If I'm not understanding you correctly.
