WLAN help

I've been trying to get the driver from the Linux HCL page to work for the past few weeks. However, I noticed while updating with YOU that one of the updates included a firmware for the Atmel at76c50x wireless network chips. The same chip for the WLAN adapter I'm using. Specifically, it is a Linksys WUSB11 ver 2.8 though I also have a few 2.6s that I can also use and the exact chipset is at76c503a. I tried to boot with the adapter connected and configure YaST but it wouldn't work. (though I didn't really know what to do in YaST so I may have over looked something.) Can someonw help me? If you know that this won't work, can you help me with the drivers then?

Also, I know this isn't on topic but XP can't see the Linux partition while SuSE can't see the Windows partition or the 250GB hard drive I'm using as a storage drive. The storage drive is made by Maxtor and was formatted with the supplied software in Windows if you wanted to know. Will the fix at the top of SuSE thread fix this problem?

The wireless connection is treated just as an ethernet connection on my laptop. delete the connections under YAST and just install the ethernet again it should find 2 connections eth0 your onboard ethernet chip and an eth1, which is the pcmcia card. just allow to configure and it will fetch up the nearet driver. I have had no problems with 9.1 and the yast network really is very good without needing any complicated input.

Okay, I just found out that the update was just a firmware that would allow me to use the driver once it works. When I try to install the driver from http://at76c503a.berlios.de/, do I have to install it in a certain folder? Because when I type make it says:

mkdir -p .tmp_versions
cp /lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.5-default/build/.tmp_versions/*.mod /home/Gene/Desktop/at76c503a/.tmp_versions
cp: cannot stat `/lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.5-default/build/.tmp_versions/*.mod': No such file or directory
make: [modules] Error 1 (ignored)
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.5-default/build SUBDIRS=/home/Gene/Desktop/at76c503a MODVERDIR=/home/Gene/Desktop/at76c503a/.tmp_versions \
EXTRA_CFLAGS=" -DCOMPILE_FIRMWARE_INTO_DRIVER" modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.5-default/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [modules] Error 2

Yes, Gene is my real name and the driver is saved on my Desktop at the moment. So can someone help?
