Question Will there be a patch a available for the new daylights savings time change?


Will a patch be posted on Yast to correct this issue in computers running SUSE ??

Please let me know

Should have already been posted if it was necessary. To test out to see if you're OK open a terminal and type this in:
Code:
date -d 'March 12'
Make sure to put the single quote around the date!
You should see something like this:
Mon Mar 12 00:00:00 CDT 2007
Note - I'm in the Central Time Zone (US) if I were in the Eastern Time Zone it would be EDT instead of CDT.

thanks I am so happy to have linux. I didnt even know that problem had been taken care of.

Note 2 things.

First this current DST problem is specific to the USA. The legislation was passed very late and there is a lot of catching up going on. Windows is in a mess!

Second if you don't have the patch, but have an NTP daemon running and you have broadband then your clock will get updated correctly on boot. See my post at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=536261

Other wise you can have it run when you connect via dial-up.
