Ok, I'm new to linux, and I'm messing around in Suse as a kind of learning experience. I've tried Knoppix, Ubuntu, and Suse. So far, I like Suse the best. The only thing that I haven't really got working 100% yet is my wireless card. And its really weird because I have the exact opposite situation of most people who have posted on this topic.
I'm a college student, and we aren't supposed to have wireless routers in our rooms because of possible interference with the campus Wlan, but me and my room mate are computer engineers, and you can't not have a wireless network, right??
Anyway, we set up a wireless router, made the SSID non-broadcast, and put WEP encription on it. Pretty secure. The weird thing is, that I'm able to connect to this network just fine (I'm using it right now), but when I take my laptop to class, I'm unable to connect to the campus Wlan. Its a 802.11b wireless network with dhcp and no encription. Just like almost all hotspots around town or where ever wifi is offered for free.
Its most likely that I just don't know how to change my settings from my Wlan to the campus' Wlan. If anyone has any idea how I can fix this, I'd much rather use Suse than Windows in class, but I've had to boot to Windows just to get onto the network (which connects with absolutely no problems)
Thanks for any ideas! (Please don't forget that I'm a linux newbie in your response)
