Why has Opensuse become popular?
Would someone explain to me why Opensuse [capitalization uncertain] has replaced Suse, at least on Distrowatch's list? When I checked a few days ago, Opensuse was in the top-five and [regular?] Suse was gone. I don't know what this is about, because I haven't tried Suse. Has something happened similar to Red Hat's abandonment(?) of regular RHL for RHEL as its flagship product? I can figure out that it surely wasn't because regular Suse wasn't performing well; this spring, I wrote a report (for a Business and Tech Writing course) on which of five major Linux distros would most likely compete with Windows if given more commercial promotion, and I concluded that it would be Suse (went in thinking RH).
