Looking at the structure for previous releases, it's easy to see why you couldn't find it because if you go to ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/ and don't know to go to current it is not obvious that you can actually download 9.2 personal.
No doubt it will have Gnome 2.8 but as I rarely use Gnome (usually only for updating KDE!) that won't interest me too much.
I only upgraded to 9.2 just a couple of months ago so I think there will have to be something special to tempt me to move to 9.3 so soon. However, I shall wait and see.
(Whereas I quite like OpenOffice, I find it so slow to open that I have recently been using AbiWord as my word processor.)

Honestly, the only thing I see is the DVD-FTP.ISO and the Mini-Install.ISO.
This is the correct README from the 9.2 ISO FTP directory.
"You have the choice:
1) If you have a DVD burner, you can download the file
SUSE-Linux-9.2-FTP-DVD.iso (the file's exact size is 3363543040 Bytes!)
and burn it on a DVD to boot and install from it, just like you would
do with a DVD from a SUSE Linux 9.2 box edition.
2) If you have a CDR/RW burner, you may want to download the file
SUSE-Linux-9.2-mini-installation.iso (size: exactly 67336192 bytes),
burn it on a CD and boot from it to start the installation of the SUSE
Linux 9.2 FTP version."
Neither of these are a "Personal" version of 9.2.
In fact, notice the difference in the ISO names and sizes:
If they're not the Personal edition, what the heck are they?
Hint: there are two edition of Suse Linux
Another hint: Personal does not contain the commercial components
And yet another hint: That ISO does not contain the commercial components.
Now, if there are two editions of Suse, and the one posted does not contain the commercial components, what's left? Dear God, some people are thick.
For the record..the dvd iso of suse 9.2 on the suse website and all the mirrors DOES contain all the commercial software. It's the same packages the 5 cd's contain on one dvd image. Perhaps before you start commenting on other people's intelligence you should actually download the iso and try it out.
They've somehow gotten the README for the 9.1 Personal.ISO mixed with the 9.2 DVD.ISO, and I guess have managed to convince themselves that means these two offerings are the same thing. Beyond that, I really have no explanation for what they are talking about.
But yeah, there is no such thing as a 9.2 Personal SuSE release. That product is no longer offered at the SuSE store, and the packages on the DVD.ISO are basically what you would get if you purchased the 5CD boxed set of 9.2 Professional.
Originally posted by dth1 Marrea - I haven't seen anything official but on another site it shows a release date of the 13th April. Also it is to be version 9.3 rather than 10.0 (which is different to the version 8 as that went 8.0 8.1 8.2 then to 9.0).
As to what it will include I don't know! I assume kde 3.4 but since you can download that already?!?!?! Also I think that there is a newer version of Open Office (since 9.2) although I tend to just use KOffice.
I got into contact with a few people at Novell and they told me that the expect release for 9.3 is April. I was given an exact date though. Also they told me that 10.0 should be coming about some time around October. I personally cannot wait for both 9.3 and 10.0. I'm sure that 10.0 will be much different where as 9.3 will fix a few things here and there.

ISTR that SuSE 7 was 7.0-7.3, and SuSE 6 was 6.0-6.4. Following that progression, SUSE 9.2 would have been 10.0. Personally, I would like them to wait until KDE 4 is out until they release SUSE 10.

Just to clarify that it is the same as the five CD's not the DVD, i.e. there are no x86_64 packages (I'm not sure about the source packages).
This is awesome but how accurate is that account? The release would be a month earlier than expected. Is there more news saying the same thing? It'd be sweet if its release this Wednesday!
I did a bit of digging and the ZDNet article was the main thing of substance I could find. The forms at Novell seem to be off line at the moment and there is no obvious update less than a few days old listed on their website. If this is indeed true, it seems to have caught everyone by surprise, including the SuSE newsgroups.
I expect we will see a bunch more information in the next day or two. So far I cannot find anywhere to pre-order. FYI, ZDNet and their related publications have always seemed to be very reliable. It would seem to make sense that their UK site would have the news first.
