What's the deal? (Amarok hates me on SuSE!)

For whatever reason, on SuSE...amarok will randomly close (with no error). Sometimes it will give an actual error and a backtrace..but not often. It does this very frequently...and as I said, only on SuSE. I love SuSE..but it's making me want to ditch it, because Amarok is my favorite media player. I tried it out on slackware...same version...same engine, and had no issues. Amarok has crashed about 5 times in just a few hours.

Ok weird, I just found that a certain song boots amarok. When I play this certain song..it goes through it to the end, and just instantly closes. Here is what happened on the command line:

ravencrow@linux:~> amarok
amaroK: [Loader] Starting amarokapp..
amaroK: [Loader] Don't run gdb, valgrind, etc. against this binary! Use amarokapp.
QObject::connect: Cannot connect Engine::Base::statusText( const QString& ) to (null)::shortMessage( const QString& )
QObject::connect: Cannot connect Engine::Base::infoMessage( const QString& ) to (null)::longMessage( const QString& )
QLayout: Adding KToolBar/mainToolBar (child of QVBox/unnamed) to layout for PlaylistWindow/PlaylistWindow

amarok

Very strange. I run SuSE 9.3 and Fedora Core 3/4. Amarok behaves the same on these 3 distros. However, if that song doesn't do the same on your other linux distro(s), I might suggest upgrading your amarok version to 1.3 (beta 2), which can be obtained from guru (if you haven't done so already).

This may or may not help?

I think I found the problem...finally. I compiled Amarok from source. Still booted me on that song. So I compiled taglib. Still had the problem. I compiled libmusicbrainz and libtunepimp .. and it magically went away. Odd indeed..but so far so good..and the one song doesn't crash amarok any more.
