Want to put an HD icon on desktop

I have been trying without success to get another HD icon on my OpenSuse 10.0 GNOME desktop.

I have a multiboot system with the following:

hda1 Win/ntfs .. shows on desktop as C:Win
sda1 Win/ntfs ... shows on desktop as DRV04
sda3 Kanotix64/reiserfs
sda6 OpenSuse/reiserfs

Suse configs the windows partitions just fine, but I can't seem to get the Kanotix64 partition (/dev/sda3) to show up ont he desktop. I can mount it manually, but after that I can't get an HD icon to represent it on the GNOME desktop.

Help would be appreciated, this is the last set up issue that I am trying to resolve... at least for the moment.

Thanks

Paul

KDE desktop can do -- never used Gnome.

um,ok Fragos, thats cool but I AM using GNOME ;=) so the KDE thing will not help here.

FWIW I do use KDE on Kanotix64 but wanted to give GNOME a look. I'd have to say that although it looks and operates ok, I am starting to prefer KDE as I seem to know how to get more stuff done there than in GNOME.

So, can anyone offer me a way to get the /dev/sda3 HD mounted and represented on the desktop ??.

I suppose this is a completely obvious, but it sure has me scratching my head.

Thanks

Paul

Assuming that we are talking about KDE now right click desktop - Create new - Link to device - Hard Disk Device - Drive tab - Select from drop down drive list. Actually, something similar may even work with Gnome.
