Vmware 5.5.2 supports 10.1 /SLED as Host

To all using vmware workstation -- update now posted on the vmware site -- version 5.5.2 (free update from 5.5 / 5.5.1).

Fixed so SUSE 10.1 and SLED/SLES 10 work fine.

This was one of the main reasons I haven't gone over to SLED 10 completely yet. Now there is no reason for me not to.

I don't have a lot of multimedia, and I couldn't care less about MP3 playing so the probs with multimedia on 10.1 don't bother me.

I've got DVD playing working on SLED 10 -- using Libdvdcss, Libxine, Xineui and windows codecs from the Brazilian site. Worked first time.

I like SLED -- it's a great OS and certainly works far better than the current Vista beta.

Cheers

I've been running VMWare on SLED 10 since it's release.

I am on VMWare 5.5.1

I used vmware-any-any config script and not the stock VMWare one.

Hi there! I'm a first time SuSE enterprise user and I was wondering how come I can't configure Vmware5.5.1 to run in my system...I got stock in the part where it was asking for the C header files for my kernel...need help badly!

you would need to install the kernel-devel packages
