VM Windows NTFS ==> SUSE==>Real Windows NTFS

Networking question -- not sure if it's possible but I have the following.

SUSE 10 (Host) running VMWARE with a Windows XP guest.

Virtual Networking allows me to access the Linux machine (SAMBA) on the Windows VM.

Now on the Linux Host I've also got 2 "Real Windows" NTFS partitions mounted (VolumeD and VolumeE). As these are Read only to Linux could I in some way allow my Windows VM to see these via SAMBA and have READ / WRITE access to them. Note these are Native NTFS partitions.

This "Real" Windows machine is sometimes "Dual booted" but I'm hoping eventually not to have to boot this machine anymore.

Thanks

-K

well you can only achieve this as much as you can achieve NTFS writing under Linux over all. it is still the linux machine interacting with the local NTFS partitions, which is just as dangerous as it normally would be. if you use vmware server you should be able to pass access to the partition block device to the VM, but this may also be dangerous depending on if the host os still has some interaction with the partition. pretty sure it'd be safe though.
