Video plugin for Firefox
When trying to watch video from Firefox at wwe.com I get message missing plugin and directed to manually install. Then I am taken to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...downloads.aspx there I cannot find any solution (for Firefox in Linux)

hey there - just went to the site and i notice it needs the flash plugin.
This site has some info on how you can download via repositories in suse 10.1 + other cool stuff too like being able to play DVD's watch divx video etc... If you already have installed the flash web plugin. Open a terminal window and cd /usr/lib/firefox/plugins now type 'ls' - minus the quotes and check that there is a file in there called libflashplayer.so |
Oh here is the link : http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/254/42/

I have installed flash and win32codecs already but still...
dr@vijay:~> cd /usr/lib/firefox/plugins dr@vijay:/usr/lib/firefox/plugins> ls flashplayer.xpt libflashplayer.so libnullplugin.so dr@vijay:/usr/lib/firefox/plugins> |
Interesting... Are you able to paste a link to one of the video's on the web page here?
It must be something other than flash i suppose - have you tried the same page in 'Konqueror' just to see what happens. I find it loads some Java based pages much better than firefox. |
I just had a look, wwe.com requires that you have windows media player to play the files.
no wonder it took you to hxxp://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/alldownloads.aspx look at XavierP's reply in this thread that might be of use http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=475104 |
