Video Card won't work correctly
Hello,
I just installed i386 Suse 10.1 on an AMD 64 machine using an Asus A8V-MX Board. The on board video card is an S3 Unichrome Pro VGA card. SAX2 uses a Framebuffer graphics setting. All I want to do is change the screen size to 1280 X 1024. SAX2 will not let it go past 1024 x 768. It also won't let me change the video card type. I am certain I am doing something wrong, but it did install this way. Can anybody help? Regards, Randy. |
Open a console, then run the command 'hwinfo --gfxcard'. It should tell you name of the card, the driver needed, whether or not that driver is active, and the command to use to load the correct driver.
Then try Sax again. The resolution you want is supported by the via driver, which is the one for the S3 card. |
Got video card info, need SAX2 help!

I did the command you gave me and got this (below). I guess I still can't figure out how to get SAX2 to let me choose another video adapter. And if I did, what do I put for the adapter name?
