Eth0 is connected to the Internet 205.220.230.10

i can access the internet, the website veiwed from intwernet
however the internal interface never seems to stay online (Cant ping it)

you need to provide more information about your topology... why do you have both nic's on the same subnet (i assume). the internal interface being up or not will have nothing at all to do with squid.
