either don't update kde to 3.4 or wait to install superkaramba until they rebuild it for kde 3.4.

kpim obsoletes kpim-organizer(organizer is now included in kpim) so remove the conflicting kpim-organizer.

do you need the -devel packages? (if your not sure, then you don't)either install jack-devel or remove the conficting packages

you'll break it. the errors are there for a reason, packages depend on other packages, there is no way around it.

nothing is 100% automatic. and apt isn't available from the disc's you'll have to put it on yourself. www.linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm . looking at your first post, most of your problems are caused by superkaramba. either uninstall it and upgrade, or don't upgrade kde and keep it.

kdepim3 3.4.0-5 conflict
Conflicts with:
kdepim3-organizer obsoletes kdepim3-organizer
Conflict Resolution:
( ) Do Not Update kdepim3
( ) Remove the Conflicting Package
Delete kdepim3-organizer
Here you can check 'Remove the conflicting package' since kdepim3-organizer does no more exist in 3.4. It is merged with kdepim3.

It looks worse than it really is. As rshaw already said, only a few packages cause the conflicts. If superkaramba is not available for 3.4, it won't help to use apt either. And I guess you don't need arts-devel very urgently, do you?

This is a part that I do not understand. Why are there 1.6GB of updates available? I think KDE 3.3->3.4 is about 300MB. But what else? The base system of SUSE 9.2 should not be different, even if installed from the server. I assume you are installing every available package. That doesn't make sense to me, since you won't need most of them. The nice feature of using these online installation sources is that you have everything you may need on hand, but not on HDD until you really need it.
