unable to register suse 10.3 for online updates

I get an error every time I try to register my suse 10.3 install so I can get YOU updates. It goes through the connection process with the suse server, then I get a pop up error message. My installation came from the live opensuse 10.3 cd. Is there another way to get the YOU updates?

If you have open suse you do not have to register to get you,re updates start up yast2 goto comunity repositories. If click on it will down load all the repositories On right are boxes click on the one you needed
After it you start up the online update and afterwards you can configure if you like the automatic update

all the best

Thanks for the info, however, I think something is preventing me from getting the downloads. When I tried the community repositories I received this error:
'unable to download list of repositories or no repositories defined.' I was also unable to add packman or guru to software repositories. And I tried with the firewall disabled.

I got it good luck

re is a fix for the live disc community repo error.

Open up the terminal

gain root access

edit the YaST control file

CODE
gedit /etc/YaST2/control.xml

find the line starting with
CODE

external_sources_link

Change the URL after external_sources_link to

CODE
http://download.opensuse.org/YaST/Re...03_Servers.xml

Save and try again. Doesn't work if the repos are down though.
Hope this solves your problem

While installing she builds repositories from the suse server any how if there is a internet connection
I install from the install cd that is because I am suse user quit a long time now up from suse 7.3
It possible that there is a bug in the live cd But if so why do not correct it

Thanks, I fixed the link as you indicated and it worked. I was able to select from a list of repositories, however, I got an error message just before it finished:
'yast got signal 4 at ycp file /usr/share/yast2/clients/repositories.ycp:463 /sbin/yast2: line 390: 6360 illegal instruction

I also tried adding the packman url from the community repositories manually.
