I do seem to have a few issues to resolve since moving to Suse 9.1.
I discovered that my 3D card is not found by Suse9.1
I have a Hercules Prophet 9000 card and a Acer 1511TFT flat panel display.
When i go to Yast and click on hardware->Graphics/Display, then the monitor goes blank and after that I have to reboot.
When I try playing a 3D game, then it tells me there is no 3D card.
I had this problem with KDE3.2.
Has anyone had similar problems...? any clue is appreciated.
From what I found in google it's a ATI Radeon 9000 chip. Maybe you could try the ATI driver. But as far as I can remember, 3D and ATI was always a problem on Linux.
You should check the output of /var/log/XFree86.0.log for errors (EE), warnings (WW) and drm messages.
BTW: I tried installing the ATI drivers, and reconfigured, but there is no improvement in the situation. ( I did this as mentioned in a docu in this website step by step .....and finaally running startx.....)
